Specialization and Experience

Language pairs: English-Russian/Ukrainian, German-Russian/Ukrainian

Technical translation more than any other requires scrupulousness, knowledge of technology and accuracy.

To a great extent it depends of course on the translator's experience.

I have a 13-year experience as a technical translator/interpreter.

For 11 years I had worked as an in-house translator/interpreter in manufacturing companies, which resulted not only in profound knowledge of the special terms, but also in complete understanding of their meaning as I had the opportunity to study special equipment and regular machinery both working and being assembled; interpreted in the course of their installation and testing, translated operating manuals in close contact with the companies’ engineers and technologists. I know the technological processes, row materials and products obtained as the result of their processing.

This was an invaluable school for me.

Most manufacturing companies in addition to specialized machinery have a mechanical-repair department, the equipment of which is periodically replaced, and my experience therefore is not limited to specialized technical areas.

And of course I was responsible for the companies' business correspondence, contracts, negotiations, etc.

Now I offer translation services in the following specialized areas:

General (publicism, popular scientific literature, advertising copies)
Technical (User manuals, etc.)
Mechanical engineering
Textile industry
Nuclear power engineering
Business (contracts, business correspondence etc.)
